Apple IPhone would be a FLOP in India… 7 Reasons Why!!
To the occasional phone user, the Apple Iphone might look and sound great, but to the avid texter, gadget lover, data user IPhone is a HUGE pain in the ASS. It is a commonly known fact that Apple hired paid actors to create a HYPE in the UK and the plan fell flat when a local newspaper interviewed one of them standing in a que to buy an Iphone, who had NO IDEA what the godforsaken thing was or why HE was there… Apple just wants to push its failure gadget into a Raw Market andhopes to find a few takers among a few billion, in the process making some huge revenue.
Here are a few things where Iphone engineers have really gone wrong
1) Locked Up Gadgets
Apple apparently are yet to learn from Microsoft. They have locked their phones and in the process locked up their customer base.
2) Entirely Touch Screen
Functionality needs keys. Steve Jobs can go around announcing that keys are ugly but the truth of the matter is that keys are the easiest way to get around a device. And Iphone lacks keys.
3) No MMS
When you’re talking about an advanced device such as an IPhone there are some basic things expected. No MMS? What were you thinking Iphone Guys?
4) Data Transfer Rates
In the developed markets where 3G Speeds are possible, the Iphone is yet to find loyal takers for the phone. In a market like India, GPRS Speeds suck big time. The usability of the IPhone gets very doubtful.
5) Commercials
Some quick stats first. Average Money spent per phone user in India = $3-4. Average Blackberry User spends $22. That is exactly what you might be looking to target. But the Iphone is no Blackberry. In fact, far from that. The IPhone can’t even boast of a proper security system in place for its mailing service.
6) Texting
Did you know that you cannot use your iphone to send multiple text messages to people? Is that Vodafone’s Strategy to get people sending more messages? And imagine how dissapointed those FORWARD FREAKS are gonna be.
7) Support & Service
I own a Macbook and I know what kind of Support is expected from Apple. Obviously Apple is not going to open a service centre in India for the IPhone. It would leave it to some 3rd Party So called Service providers. You can expect to waste a huge amount of your time and money on these 3rd Party Guys… trust me!!
IPhone for India is JUST NOT A GOOD IDEA. The sooner Apple accepts this and gets out, the better it is for themselves and the Indian Public.
