Reasons why Blackberry must look at India seriously.
Well… I sure hope they sort out their differences. I understand that not being able to intercept messages from Blackberry Devices in India might amount to security concerns but I’m sure a lot of countries come across this problem. So there must be a way out.
Now, I’ve decided to buy a Blackberry Curve 8320 and it would be a shame if Blackberry services are cut off. Or if Blackberry decides to walk out and provide some crappy third party service like what Apple is doing at the moment.
So far, BB has been aloof with respect to the Indian Market, approaching cautiously with a “we’ll supply third party distributors with the phones(in the process making good money) and we’re happy as long as Indian Mobile Service Providers make money selling “BB Services” to the Indian Public for rip-off Prices.” Now, the BB Management is faced with the million dollar question( actually a lot more than that). “Should we provide India with a seperate server jumping into the Indian Market with some serious marketing and support approach OR walk out of India( and a huge potential customer base) like Apple did?” The time is now…
Here are 4 reasons why Blackberry must look at India seriously.
1) India is still an untapped territory for BB. While HTCs, Motorolas & Samsungs have literally swamped the Indian Markets with their Windows Based Pocket PCs and Smart Phones, they have still not been able to summon a huge army of loyal mobile windows users.
2) BBs are famous for their addiction factor and loyal and intelligent fan base of people who care less for razzmatazz and more for sensibility on their mobile phones. India has a huge number of those people.
3) There are a lot of business users who’d love readable, intelligent emails on their mobile devices but are forced to go and buy the second best stuff because BB doesn’t market their products in India.
4) A partnership with a mobile operator is NOT the way to go when marketing your Product. Why? Because the Mobile Operator ends up stressing its features more than your phone’s features. So come out, be creative and waltz with the Indian Crowd of Business Users. You’ll love them I’m telling ya.
